The Northumberland Sports Council is a dedicated volunteer for the Kilometers for Kids fundraising road race.
What is Kilometers for Kids?
Kilometers for Kids is an annual 5k and 11k, road and trail walk/run for runners, families, and pets of all ages in support of Rebound Child & Youth Services Northumberland. Rebound’s programs and services have helped vulnerable children and youth throughout Northumberland County with timely and responsive services over the last 22 years.
All proceeds help enhance the development of these programs and services to ensure every child, youth, and family has the opportunity to reach their fullest potential.
Presqu’ile Provincial Park is a beautiful and desired location for any walk or run. This road and trail run is a great opportunity to embrace nature, have some fun, and even challenge yourself or some friends! Kilometers for Kids is an event for people of all ages: students, families, you name it!

What does the Northumberland Sports Council do?
We help organize the logistics around the run.
We seek donations (monetary and for our SWAG Bag Give-Aways) from community organizations and businesses.
We are there day of to help set up and clean up.
We guide the warm-up for the runners before each race.
We organize and facilitate the Couch – 5km Training Program. This training program uses physical literacy as a framework to get individuals of all ages from the couch to the K4K starting line in 6 weeks! Meet new friends, gain running skills and abilities, and have fun!
